A few weeks ago, I wrote in a blog post about how Polaroid's old instant-print film cameras were no longer in production, and Zink was stepping in to fill the void with a digital camera that can make prints.
Polaroid didn't wait long to join the effort to fill the instant-print void, either.
At CES 2009, Polaroid followed through on an informal announcement from several months earlier, formally introducing a new digital camera that can create instant prints, the Polaroid PoGo Instant Digital Camera. The PoGo will have 7 megapixels of resolution, and prints will measure 2 by 3 inches. Making a print will be extremely easy, as the photographer will only have to press a button with the desired photograph on the LCD.
The PoGo will appear on store shelves in the spring of 2009, and the price has not been announced yet. If the early rumors are to be believed, and the PoGo will cost around $200, it will be a cool option for those needing quick, small prints on the go. Just don't expect professional-quality prints with the PoGo ... or even prints equal in quality to those Polaroid film camera instant prints. (Compare Prices)
