Consumers tired of carrying two devices for capturing digital video and still images will want to closely consider the two-in-one dual digital cameras from Sanyo Fisher Company.
Sanyo recently announced six dual cameras in the Xacti family. Each dual camera can shoot high-definition video and still photos, and the units should be available for sale in the United States in March.
At first glance, the Xacti cameras appear to look and act more like digital camcorders than digital cameras for still photos, so they might not appeal to someone who wants to primarily shoot digital photos, while only occasionally shooting video. Those who prefer ultra-thin digital cameras might not like the bulk of the dual cameras. However, Sanyo is offering two compact models among the six Xacti units, including the VPC-TH1 pictured above, and those units are similar in size to a large digital camera. All six units have vastly different sizes and feature sets.
The VPC-TH1 costs around $300. (Compare Prices)
