Although the extent of the market for instant-print digital photographs is not known yet, various manufacturers aren't hesitating to jump in.
Dell became the latest company to create an "ultra-mobile" instant print option for digital cameras. The Wasabi digital photo printer from Dell is a device that fits in a hand and can create a 2-by-3-inch print in about 1 minute. You can print from any digital camera or cell phone that includes Bluetooth wireless technology, or you can use a USB wired connection and a phone or camera that can use PictBridge.
Wasabi uses Zink's Zero Ink technology, as does Tomy's xiao TIP-521 instant-print digital camera. Polaroid recently introduced its own instant-print digital camera, the PoGo, giving photographers plenty of options.
Wasabi is an interesting option for adding instant-print capabilities to a digital camera you already own. At $149, though, it's a bit expensive for a novelty item, so you'd better be certain you have the need for instant prints. (Compare Prices)
