Four new consumer-level cameras from Nikon provide some versatility for beginning photographers.
- Coolpix S70. With a price of about $400, the S70 (pictured here) includes a huge 3.5-inch, touch-screen LCD, HD video capabilities, and four different body colors.
- Coolpix S570. The S570 is the most basic of the new Coolpix cameras, carrying an MSRP of $200. It includes a 5X optical zoom lens along with some wide angle capabilities.
- Coolpix S640. If you want a fast beginner digital camera, Nikon promises a 0.7-second start-up time with the S640. This model's 12.2 megapixels of resolution and 5X optical zoom lens make it a strong model with an MSRP of about $250.
- Coolpix S1000pj. A built-in projector and slideshow function highlight the cool features in the S1000pj, which carries a price of about $430.
Look for the new Coolpix models to be available in September. There are some very interesting features and technologies in this lineup ... giving you the capability to create some "cool pics."
