When One LCD Isn't Enough

Samsung recently introduced a pair of new digital cameras that will definitely turn heads ... for everyone but the photographer, that is.

The new DualView TL220 and TL225 (also called the ST550 and ST500 outside of the United States) digital cameras from Samsung contain dual LCDs. One large 3.0- or 3.5-inch LCD exists in the traditional position on the back panel of the camera. A second, small LCD on the front of the camera, next to the lens, measures 1.5 inches diagonally.

The LCD on the front can be used as a viewfinder, can display an animation that will keep the attention of children waiting to be photographed, or can display a countdown timer for timed photos.

The DualView TL220 costs only $300, while the TL225 costs $350. Both have 12.2 megapixels of resolution.

The second LCD means the photographer no longer has to turn his or her head awkwardly to shoot a self-portrait. Just be prepared for everyone else's heads to turn to look at this unique camera.
