Fumble-fingered photographers, rejoice! One of the latest cameras from Olympus can survive a fall from up to 5 feet, which may mean the difference between a camera that still works after you drop it and one that's in several pieces at your feet.

My Olympus Stylus Tough 6000 review shows a camera that offers some good photography features alongside its ability to survive rough shooting environments. The Stylus Tough 6000 works in shallow water, low temperatures, and other harsh conditions.

The Stylus Tough 6000 doesn't quite have the response times or overall image quality of some other cameras in its price range of about $230-$250 (Compare Prices), but its drawbacks are minimal and its "tough" features more than make up for any drawbacks.

If you have no need for shooting in extreme conditions, then you'll probably want to skip the Stylus Tough 6000. However, if you need occasionally to shoot in cold weather or underwater, this camera is a strong contender.

If your budget for a "tough" camera is a little higher, say in the $300-$325 range, I'd recommend the Stylus Tough 6000's big brother, which I discussed in my Olympus Stylus Tough 8000 review. Its overall feature set is a little better than the 6000, especially when it comes to the "tough" features, but it does carry the higher price tag. (Compare Prices)
