When looking at sub-$300 cameras, one area where they tend to underperform is in response times. They typically just don't respond as quickly as more expensive models.
My Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 review, however, shows an exception to the rule. The Lumix DMC-ZR1 works fast, and its impressive 8X optical zoom lens moves through its zoom levels very quickly and quietly.
Panasonic lists the DMC-ZR1 for an MSRP of $279, and it's available in four body colors, including red (shown here). If you can find the DMC-ZR1 for a little less than its MSRP, it should become a very strong contender for those shopping for a point and shoot camera.
