Panasonic's CES digital camera announcements centered on offering HD video throughout its lineup of six new Lumix cameras.
- Lumix F3. Look for the F3 to represent an entry-level camera from Panasonic. It includes 12.1 megapixels of resolution and a 4X optical zoom lens.
- Lumix FH1. With the Lumix FH1, Panasonic will offer HD video, a 5X optical zoom lens, and 12.1 megapixels of resolution.
- Lumix FH3. Look for the FH3 to include HD video capabilities, a 5X optical zoom lens, and 14.1 megapixels of resolution.
- Lumix FH20. With 14.1 megapixels of resolution and an 8X optical zoom lens, the FH20 (pictured here) is the high-end model among the new Lumix cameras. It can shoot HD video and features fast auto focus capabilities.
- Lumix FP1. The FP1 offers a 2.7-inch LCD, 12.1 megapixels of resolution, and a 4X optical zoom lens.
- Lumix FP3. The 3.0-inch touch screen LCD -- with 11 levels of LCD brightness -- and 14.1 megapixels of resolution make the FP3 a potentially high-end performer.
Panasonic has not yet announced pricing or release dates for these new Lumix cameras. In addition to its camera announcements at CES, Panasonic announced new SDXC memory cards with 64 GB and 48 GB capacities.
I'll have additional information on each of these new Panasonic products in my blog during the next few weeks.

Panasonic sets the bar with HD onboard all of their new cameras! This is why I’ve recently ended my 15 year love affair with Canon. Panasonic simply delivers what consumers want in a camera… excellent picture quality, ease of use, and HD video at a great price. Seems like everyone else is simply playing ‘catchup’ with these guys!
