With 14.2 megapixels of resolution and some cool new features, the recently announced Alpha 450 DSLR camera from Sony should provide those looking for a first DSLR an interesting option.
Sony has several DSLR cameras in its Alpha family, and the A450 borrows its feature set from a few of those models, such as with fast auto-focus capabilities and an ISO sensitivity up to 12800.
The A450 has a particularly strong battery managing capabilities, which is great for a DSLR camera. It potentially can shoot 1,000 or more photos on a single battery charge.
Sony should begin selling the A450 in February, although prices haven't yet been announced. It appears as though the A450 will fit in the middle of Sony's DSLR Alpha family, which should put the introductory price around $600-$750.
