Panasonic Unveils Five More Cameras

CES 2010 in early January was a busy time for announcements of digital cameras, as several companies combined to introduce dozens of cameras. But, apparently, CES wasn't long enough to accommodate all of the new camera announcements.

Samsung announced five additional cameras last week, beyond the six it introduced at CES.

Now Panasonic has added to the six point and shoot cameras that it announced during CES 2010, introducing another five cameras. They are:

  • Lumix F2. The F2 is a entry-level camera, offering 10.1 megapixels of resolution and "intelligent scene selector" technology, aimed at helping beginners achieve properly exposed photos.

  • Lumix TS2. This is a rugged model, offering waterproof protection up to 33 feet in depth, shockproof protection for a drop up to 10 feet, and cold weather protection up to 14 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Lumix ZR3. The ZR3 (pictured here) can shoot AVCHD Lite HD video, and it includes an 8X optical zoom lens.

  • Lumix ZS5. The ZS5 is a small camera that features a 12X optical zoom lens and a 2.7-inch LCD.

  • Lumix ZS7. The ZS7 is similar to the ZS5, but it includes a built-in GPS for geotagging and a 3.0-inch high-definition LCD screen.

Panasonic will announce pricing and official release dates for these four cameras at a later date. Stay tuned to my blog, as I'll have more details on each of these Panasonic cameras in the upcoming weeks.
