Pentax Announces Three New Optio Cameras

Pentax did not introduce any new cameras at the CES 2010 in Las Vegas earlier this month, but the company didn't miss the boat entirely.

Pentax now has announced three new point and shoot digital cameras in its Optio family that will be available for sale sometime in February. The newly announced Pentax cameras are:

  • Optio E90. Pentax has aligned the E90 (MSRP $99.95) as its budget-level camera, with 10 megapixels of resolution.

  • Optio H90. The H90 (MSRP $179.95, pictured here) includes a 5X optical zoom lens and the ability to capture widescreen HD video.

  • Optio I-10. Pentax designed the I-10 (MSRP $299.95) to resemble a DSLR camera, but it's an easy-to-use, point and shoot model with 12.1 megapixels of resolution.

For more detailed information on these new Pentax cameras, check back with my blog over the next several weeks. In addition, stay tuned for an announcement of a set of new digital cameras from another major manufacturer sometime in the next several days.
