Cameras of the Future Discussed

Digital cameras are always changing, adding new features and improving old ones. At the first CP+ photo tradeshow in Japan, the CIPA (Camera and Imaging Products Association) made predictions on what the "cameras of the future" will look like, highlighting some potential future camera technologies and high-tech cameras.

The president of the CIPA, Tsuyoshi Kikukawa, spoke of the cameras of the future during his keynote address at CP+ 2010, as the tradeshow is going on this weekend. Four of the high-tech ideas are listed at the link above.

These ideas for cameras of the future are pretty cool, but it almost certainly will be several years before we see any of these ideas implemented. When considering the problems that could arise with "smell-photography," I'm more than willing to wait until the technologies are perfected.
