Large optical zoom lenses in thin camera bodies are becoming more prevalent in beginner-level cameras, and General Imaging, the digital camera division of GE, has introduced just such a camera.
The GE E1486TW camera offers an 8X optical zoom lens with limited wide angle capabilities, while the camera body measures slightly less than 1 inch in thickness.
The E1486TW, which carries an MSRP of $199.99, includes a 3.0-inch touch screen LCD, which makes it easy to use. In addition, the E1486TW can shoot at 14 megapixels of resolution and can record HD video.
That's an impressive feature list for a sub-$200 camera. The E1486TW should be available soon in black, red, and silver.
