When it comes to movies, the sequel is rarely better than the first version. When it comes to digital cameras, though, the sequel is a "new and improved" model that delivers better features at a better price ... at least Panasonic is hoping that's the case with its Lumix TS2 camera.
The TS2 is an upgrade from the Lumix TS1 from last year. The TS2 has several "tough" features, including the ability to: Work underwater at depths up to 33 feet, survive a fall up to 10 feet, and work in temperatures as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit. In addition, Panasonic built the TS2 with an airtight camera body to resist dust and sand. You also can purchase an optional silicon jacket to further protect the TS2's camera body from scratches.
The Lumix TS2 includes a 4.6X optical zoom lens, a 2.7-inch LCD, 14.1 megapixels of resolution, and a fast start-up time of about 1 second. The colorful TS2 will be available in blue, orange, silver, and yellow.
