The Optio W90 digital camera from Pentax is the 11th generation Optio waterproof camera, and it offers the strongest set of features thus far.

The Optio W90 has a nice set of "tough" features, making it a good option for nature photography. It works in up to 20 feet of water depth, can survive a fall of 4 feet, and can operate in temperatures as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit. In addition, the Optio W90 includes a "microscope" mode -- using an LED light that allows it to focus on items as close as 0.39 inches, which is great for close-up nature photos -- and a fabric strap with a carabiner for attaching it securely to a backpack.

The photography features found with the Optio W90 are good, too, as it offers 12.1 megapixels of resolution, a 5X optical zoom lens, 720p HD video resolution, an HDMI port, and a 2.7-inch LCD screen.

The Optio W90 is currently available with an MSRP of $329.95. (Compare Prices) The camera body is mostly black, with two choices in trim color -- black and pistachio green -- both shown here.

Avoid the Pentax W90 at all costs. I initially had a W30 that died after 2 years (My son also had same that died as well) and I just felt it was bad luck it died. Exactly 1 year later & very little use as I have other cameras for daily use, I was snorkeling Key West Florida & the camera died underwater in the same way as the W30. Being away at the time I could only return it 2 weeks after the warrenty (Christmas Gift 2010) and the company did not honor the return saying it will cost $148 to repair a $230 camera. No Brainer Here! My last Pentax forever

Does anyone have contact for Pentex directly? I bought a brand new Pentax Optio camera and a accessory package for my daughter who lives in the Virginia Islands LAST Christmas off Amazon. She used it once on Christmas morning NOT under water and then the first time she took it with her to USE underwater it wouldn’t even turn on! I paid approx $250 for the camera. (NOT CHEAP) I haven’t found any place locally to take it to get it fixed not to mention I’m PISSED I have to pay more money to get it fixed and it wasn’t even an option to return it to the person I bought it from on Amazon! H….E….L….P!!!
