Hewlett-Packard needed to make a splash with its return earlier this year to the beginner-level digital camera market. I'm not sure how much of a splash the CW450t is making, but it does appear this model may be the lowest-price camera featuring a touch screen LCD.

The CW450t carries an MSRP of only $109. Its touch screen LCD is smaller than most I've seen, measuring only 2.7 inches diagonally, but it's still impressive to find a touch screen in a camera near the $100 price point.

You'll find 25 scene modes with the CW450t, along with 12.2 megapixels of resolution, a 4X optical zoom lens, and AVI video. The CW450t's camera body -- available in blue and merlot -- measures 1.13 inches in thickness.

Don't confuse the CW450t with the CW450, despite the similar names and similar features. The CW450 does not offer a touch screen LCD.

With two AA batteries powering the CW450t, it's convenient to change batteries while traveling. Between the touch screen LCD, AA battery power, and large number of scene modes, the CW450t looks like a very easy to use, inexpensive camera that's a great option for beginning photographers.
