Kodak Introduces New Camera Products

Today Kodak is announcing a few different camera models and photography accessories, aimed at the holiday sales season. I'll have more detail on these items in the next several weeks, but here are the basics on them.

  • EasyShare M590. Kodak claims the M590 ($199.95 MSRP) will be the world's thinnest camera with a 5X optical zoom lens, although exact specifications weren't available at the time of the product announcement.
  • PlayTouch Video Camera. Although the PlayTouch camera specializes in shooting 1080p HD video, it also can shoot still images at 5 megapixels of resolution. The PlayTouch ($229.95 MSRP), which is available in black, magenta, orange, and teal body colors, sounds like an upgrade to the Kodak Zi8 video camera.
  • Pulse 10-inch digital frame. I had a chance to review the 7-inch Pulse frame a month ago, and if the 10-inch Pulse digital photo frame ($199.95 MSRP) matches the smaller frame in image quality, it will be a great option.

Look for these new Kodak photography products to be available in the fall. These items join a handful of other new Kodak photography products announced early in 2010.
