You probably don't expect thin, point and shoot cameras to have many high-end features, but the recently announced Lumix DMC-FX700 from Panasonic will change your thinking.
The Lumix FX700 can record full 1080p HD video, which isn't common in a camera measuring 0.97 inches in thickness. You'll also find 14.1 megapixels of resolution, a 5X optical zoom lens with wide angle capabilities, and 3.0-inch touch-screen LCD.
Finally, Panasonic has included a high-speed MOS image sensor with the Lumix FX700 that should improve low-light photography. The FX700 carries a high-end price with its high-end features, as the camera has an MSRP of $399.95. (Compare Prices) The Lumix FX700, which was announced in July as part of five new Panasonic cameras, is available in black and silver.
Panasonic recently sent me a review unit for the FX700, and I should have a review published in the next couple of weeks. Check back with my blog or check the Panasonic cameras review page to see the review once it's published.
