2011 marks the 10th year of digital camera manufacturing for Panasonic, and the company has contributed several "firsts" to the market with its Lumix-brand cameras during the decade.
- First optical IS in a compact digital camera (2003).
- First wide angle lenses on ultra thin digital cameras (2006).
- First intelligent auto mode (2007).

Panasonic also has finally announced MSRPs for some the cameras it initially introduced during CES 2011.
