A new DSLR camera from Nikon highlights three new cameras announced today.
- Nikon D5100. The D5100 (pictured here) will carry 16.2 megapixels of resolution and record in full HD video when it's available for sale later this month at $799.95 for the body only. In addition, Nikon today has announced the ME-1 microphone ($179.95), which attaches directly to some Nikon DSLR cameras to provide audio while you're shooting video.
- Fujifilm FinePix Z900EXR. The new Fujifilm camera will include 16MP of resolution and a 3.5-inch touch screen LCD. The FinePix Z900EXR will be available in May for an MSRP of $279.95.
- Casio Astro Boy camera. Available only in Japan, Casio has released a limited edition Exilim camera that features characters from the Astro Boy cartoon series, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the show. The Astro Boy camera is believed to be the Exilim EX-S200.
I'll have more details on the Nikon and Fujifilm cameras closer to their actual release dates. And, if you're looking for the Astro Boy camera, you will have to be a savvy shopper. Only a few selected retailers in Japan will receive the camera initially, and it's expected that fewer than 1,000 models will be made.
