Olympus Offers "Tough" Features in Sub-$200 Camera

Olympus may have dropped the name "Stylus" from its latest set of digital cameras, but, regardless of the name change, the company is still making "tough" cameras.

The TG-310's tough features include the ability to work in water depth up to 10 feet, to survive a fall up to 5 feet, and to work in temperatures as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit. The TG310's other features include 14MP of resolution, a 3.6X optical zoom lens, 720p HD video capabilities, a 2.7-inch LCD, and a "3D" photo mode, where you shoot two photos of the scene from slightly different angles and the camera merges them into an .MPO format file.

Olympus has made "tough" cameras for a few years now, and the TG-310's MSRP of $199.99 makes it one of the most inexpensive Olympus tough cameras at introduction. It is available in blue, orange, red, silver, and white. If you have a little more to spend, need stronger tough and photographic features, and want to stick with Olympus, consider the TG-610.
