The old days of the black, boxy spy camera that you might have seen in the back of a comic book a couple of decades ago are over. Today's tiny digital cameras often look nothing like a camera.
The latest tiny camera to appear in the United States is the Necono "digital cat camera," which is a tiny cat figurine with a digital camera lens in the cat's eye. The Necono cat camera ($180), which has been sold only in Japan until recently, weighs only 1.41 ounces and includes magnets in the figurine's feet for mounting the cat camera in tough to reach places.
The 3 megapixel cat camera can shoot either video or still images. It can use a 16GB microSD memory card and includes a USB slot. It also has a self-timer for shooting photos at set intervals, or you can use the shutter button. It has no LCD for framing photos, though.
Obviously, with such a small resolution, you aren't going to make huge prints with the cat camera, but it might help you bring back some memories of the spy camera you may have had as a kid. More information is available at FourCornerStore.com.
