I had a chance to test a "tough" Pentax camera last year, and I wrote a Pentax Optio W90 review. I thought it was a great camera.
It appears Pentax has come up with a worthy successor in the Pentax Optio WG-1 GPS camera system, which is now available at an MSRP of $349.95. (Compare Prices)
The Optio WG-1 GPS, which is available in two-toned camera bodies featuring green and black, gray and dark gray, or orange and gray, all with black trim, is waterproof up to 33 feet of depth and is shockproof up to a 5-foot fall. It also will work in temperatures as cold as 14 degrees Fahrenheit.
The WG-1 GPS includes 14MP of resolution, a 5X optical zoom lens, 720p HD video, and a wide-screen 2.7-inch LCD. Additionally, it includes GPS functionality which will allow geotagging options for your photos.
This camera is related to the Pentax WG-1 that the company released earlier this year.
