Panasonic has announced four new cameras today, including the water-resistant Lumix TS20 (pictured here).
This is in addition to a set of cameras that Panasonic announced during last month's CES 2012 in Las Vegas. The new models are:
- Lumix TS4. The high-end TS4 (MSRP $400) includes GPS and "tough" features, including waterproofing. It's very similar to the Lumix TS3 from last year.
- Lumix TS20. The TS20 ($180) is similar to last year's Lumix TS10, and will work in up to 16 feet of water depth.
- Lumix ZS15. You'll find a 16X optical zoom lens with the ZS15 ($280).
- Lumix ZS20. Panasonic claims the ZS20 ($350) is the thinnest camera (1.3 inches) with a 20X lens.
I'll have far more details on these cameras when we are closer to their actual release dates in March.
In addition, Panasonic has now announced pricing and release dates for five cameras it announced during CES 2012. The SZ7 ($199.99), SZ1 ($179.99) FH8 ($149.99), FH6 ($129.99), and S2 ($109.99) will be budget-priced models. You can expect to be able to begin buying these five Panasonic models in early March.

I am the owner of a Nikon D90 – I love it but, at my age, it is really too heavy for me. I just purchased a Sony Nex 7 and for reasons I cannot fathom, I cannot get the hang of it – it has an 18/55mm lens on it – I found the longer lens cumbersome.
Even tho I take thousands of photos a year – I believe at this point it would be wise to have a good point and shoot with a very good lens (zoom) on it. What do you suggest and what do you think of the Panasonic ZS20?
