Nikon today has announced two new closely related DSLR cameras, the D800 (pictured here) and the D800E (which is a limited edition model with special software), both of which offer 36.3 megapixels of resolution.
Many of the D800's features will remind you of the Nikon D4 pro-level DSLR model, announced about a month ago. Those wanting to shoot video can shoot at up to 30 frames per second at 1080p HD video, which is great.
I'll have more details in my blog on these cameras closer to their release dates, which are late March for the D800 and in the middle of April for the D800E. Both cameras will cost around $3,000 for the body only.
