When it comes to helping beginning photographers learn how to use their cameras more efficiently, one of the best features that I think beginners will appreciate is a touch screen LCD.
The touch screen makes it easier for you to select the settings you want, as well as work through the various menus. Depending on the touch screen camera you're using, you may even be able to activate the shutter by pressing on the LCD screen and selecting the person or object on which to focus.
