The holiday season always seems like it's closer than you think, and the announcements over the past couple of days about new cameras from Nikon, Canon, and Olympus just confirm that idea. The new models that will be available for shopping choices during the upcoming holiday season are:
- Canon. Canon's two new cameras are the PowerShot SX160, with a 16X optical zoom lens; and the PowerShot SX500, with a 30X zoom lens.
- Nikon. Nikon has announced three cameras: The Coolpix S800c (pictured here), which has a 10X optical zoom lens; the Coolpix P7700, which as a high-powered CMOS image sensor; and the Coolpix S01, which measures only 0.7 inches in thickness.
- Olympus. Olympus has announced the Stylus SP-820HZ iHS, which has a 40X optical zoom lens.
I'll have more details on each of these cameras when they actually are being sold in stores, which will be sometime in September, so stay tuned to my blog.
