Pentax Q10 Provides Great Features in Small Camera

By October 22, 2012

Follow me on:

The Pentax Q10 DIL camera is a great-looking camera that remains small while being able to make use of interchangeable lenses. In fact, you can use either Pentax Q-mount lenses or K-mount lenses (with an adapter).

The Q10 can shoot at 12.4 megapixels of resolution and at five frames per second in burst mode. With a CMOS image sensor, the Q10 performs well in low light, shooting at an ISO up to 6400. You can shoot full 1080p HD video with this model, which will cost about $600 with a starter lens (Compare Prices). It's available in red or silver camera bodies, both with black trim.

24 of 29 people found the later asesss helpful: Loved the look and form factor; the images, not so much, March 21, 2010Bya0 (Upstate NY, USA) a0a0 Amazon Verified Buy() This asesss is starting: Pentax Optio I10 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 5x Large Slant Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7-Inch LCD (Classic Black) (Electronics) Wow, I sought after to like this camera the aesthetics/design got me as soon as I saw the first images unrestricted in trade in January. I have enough ancient Pentaxes (including an Auto 110 Super) to really appreciate the retro look, styling and ancient-style logo. The form factor was really quite kind, with a skilled balance, small but really kind right-hand grip, and a pleasant grippy feel. It was a bit light (plasticky) for its size. But the picture-compelling experience gradual, gradual, gradual, at smallest amount by 2010 values. I reckon the 2004 PowerShot I have is quicker. Flash photos were very gradual because of the preflash, which seemed to add an superfluous second and a semi to the administer. And images were gentle by and large, but softer as you zoom somewhere near the telephoto end. Noise and speckling was obvious at nearly all ISO speeds. As far as positives in this area image quality, in bright daylight, at 80 ISO (the sensor’s base speed), images weren’t terrible and the lens did show skilled flare resistance. Videos were technically HD, but at quality poor enough that it didn’t seem to be value the higher spec. Zoom in video manner is only available as digital zoom, which degrades image quality immediately. Sliding battery take in was very fragile and seemed prone to become misaligned and I was very, very careful with it; I would always agonize in this area its durability. I didn’t get to check out any of the really like features like pet mug recognition. Human mug recognition seemed to work reasonably water supply, though the photos weren’t necessarily surpass exposed because of it. In fact, basic flash photos/snapshots seemed washed out, with very muted colors. All in all, a very huge disappointment. I knew it had honestly average camera specs (honestly run-of-the mill point-and-spurt specs for a 2010 p&s) with a cool design, but the photo quality was such a step backward starting whatever thing else I’m by today that I had to return it.Help other customers find the most helpful reviewsa0Was this asesss helpful to you?a0 | a0 VA:F [1.9.10_1130]please wait…VA:F [1.9.10_1130](from 0 votes)
