Joining the ranks of other high-end fixed lens cameras, Pentax has used CES 2013 to introduce its first such model, the Pentax MX-1.
This model offers a 1/1.7-inch image sensor, which should lead to high-quality images. The Pentax MX-1 should compare pretty favorably to cameras like the Fujifilm XF1 and the Panasonic Lumix LX7.
The MX-1 owes its name to the days of film cameras, when Pentax offered MX film cameras in the 1970s.
I'll have more details in my blog on the MX-1 when it's available for sale in late February for about $500. Keep checking back with my blog over the next few days for more camera announcements related to CES 2013!
