Guide Review - Fuji Finepix 2650
Very few 2-megapixel cameras for around $150 will deliver as much as the Fuji Finepix 2650. The images look great on the large 1.5-inch LCD screen, on your computer screen and, most importantly, in print. This camera is very easy to use, even for someone not used to digital cameras.
It has a few features that are hard to come by at this price. There are some manual controls, such as options for shutter speed, flash and white balance.
While many low-priced models only have mediocre digital zoom lenses, this camera does have a 3x optical zoom that allows for some nice close-ups. Be careful not too zoom too far, or you get into digital zoom mode and your images will be blurry.
The worst things about this camera is the delay when shooting. I've tried taking pictures of my baby daughter, and it seems every time it finally clicks, she's turned her head away.
You also have to compensate for the inaccurate viewfinder. The image captured is actually smaller than the one you see. For instance, you take a photo of a house, and when you download you see the chimney was lopped off.
All in all, though, you can't expect perfection without paying a price. There are few flaws, and this is a great starter digital camera for someone. (Teenagers will love the video recording mode). It is also a good choice even if you are an experienced digital camera user, and simply don't need all the extra bells and whistles of more pricey models.
