This is an excellent compact consumer digital camera for the beginner who doesn’t want prints larger than 5”x7”.

Guide Review - Nikon CoolPix 2200 Digital Camera

Very similar in design and function to the CoolPix 2100, this digital camera is really designed for the beginner or someone that just wants a simple to operate digital camera. There are 15 scene modes to assist with more advanced photography as well.

While 2 megapixels is advertised to produce 8”x10” prints, I recommend enlarging prints to a maximum of 5”x7”. The quality starts to degrade at this point, but you can get photo-lab quality prints at 5”x7” or smaller. The image quality of this camera is exceptional and the noise level is very low.

Improvements over the 2100 model include making it easier to use and understand, as well as changing from the larger CF card to the more compact and popular SD card.
