The main downside to this camera is the need to navigate in the menu before you shoot a picture. If it's a camera, it should default when you turn it on to shooting a picture. You have to select "Media," and then "Camera" and then press the button to take a photo.
The unit also has a bit of a learning curve. It isn't insanely complicated, but you should play with the features and get comfortable with it before you take it on the road for a trip. The manual is a tiny booklet that isn't wildly helpful.
The Trio TV5 will please any gadget nut just by the sheer variety of options. This combines a camcorder and video player, a camera, mp3 player, audio recorder and game unit in a tiny, inexpensive package.
