Casio seems to be getting smaller and smaller these days. Not the company itself (keep your stocks), but their cameras. Two of Casios Exilim Cameras, the EXZ55 and the EX-S100, are perfect examples of the way technology keeps shrinking.
Casio uses words like "exceptionally compact" and "super thin" to describe their new wave of super-small cameras. What is most amazing about these cameras is that they actually shoot a decent picture.
The EXZ55 is the bigger of the two (barely) with dimensions of 87-millimeters wide by 58mm high by 22.5 mm deep, or 3.43 inches wide by 2.28" wide by 0.89" deep. That's about as long and wide as a credit card, although it's certainly thicker.
The EXZ55 has 5 megapixels and a 3x optical zoom with a nice-sized 2.5-inch LCD screen. You also keep the traditional optical viewfinder. Battery life on the EXZ55 is impressive (considering its diminutive size), with power to take about 400 shots on a single charge.
You can start shooting 1.6 seconds after the power is turned on. A nice plus is the optional underwater housing (although you do increase the size). COMPARE PRICES
The EX-S100 is similar to its 5-megapixel cousin, but smaller in both size and megapixels. With a tiny size akin to a business card, the EX-S100 measures 88mm wide by 57mm high by 16.7mm deep, or 3.46" by 2.24" by 0.66" deep.
Amazingly, this little thing has 3.2 megapixels and a 2.8x optical zoom. You also get a nice size 2 inch LCD screen. Start up time, 1.4 seconds. COMPARE PRICES.
You'll never have to leave your camera behind with one of these babies, or be forced to take pictures with another tiny camera (say, in your cell phone) that are blurry and unprintable. Best of all, these two cameras are just cool.
