Guide Review - Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T100 Digital Camera Review

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T100 digital camera has everything the latest models offer when it comes to basic features. It has a nice design, and has an easy-to-hold and easy-to-shoot build. It's an attractive and compact camera 8.1-megapixel, that comes in metallic silver, black and red.

Stand-Out Features of the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T100

Beyond that, Sony has taken the compact, high-megapixel camera just an extra step on a few points.
  • HDTV in Camera - The main stand-out feature is the ability to directly connect your camera to an HDTV set for stunning picture viewing, and you can view HDTV slideshows of images with background music. Why on earth this requires an optional accessory is beyond me, since it's the key unique feature of this camera. It's also a shortcoming that they didn't allow for video HD output as well.
  • Zoom - Instead of the too-common and unimpressive 3x optical zoom typically found, it features a Carl Zeiss 5x optical zoom that is a nice extra on a compact camera. One of the key shortcomings of the popular compact cameras is they perform poorly when you need to get close up from far away.
  • Face detection - Most people use cameras to take pictures of people, and that can be a frustrating act when faces don't look good in the end. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T100's face detection technology automatically adjusts color, focus, flash and exposure for portraits.
  • Big LCD screen - The 3-inch LCD screen is a powerful size on such a little camera (2.3" wide by 3.6-inch long by 0.9" deep). This will make it easier for shooters to detect bad pictures and shoot again.
  • So Sensitive - The DSC-T100 can shoot up to 3,200 ISO. Coupled with image stabilization, it helps you avoid the issues related to camera shake and blurry pictures.
  • In-Camera Editing - This camera features in-camera retouching and red-eye reduction.
