Digital Foci

The Bottom Line

The Digital Foci Image Moments Digital Picture Frame takes the old fashioned photo frame to the next level. Accepting all the major, currently-used memory cards, you can display digital images (even with background music). The downside is the frame has no internal memory. Still, it is just plain cool that the family can all check out Christmas photos, for instance, and do it right on Christmas Day.
Pros
  • Handy way to show off pictures right after you shoot
  • Accepts multiple memory cards at once
  • Can put slideshow to sound
  • Non-tech appearance looks like a fine frame
Cons
  • No internal memory, so you must use memory cards at all times

Description

  • Supports CF I/II, MD, SM, MMC, SD Card, Memory Stick and MS PRO memory cards.
  • Adapters are needed for mini-SD, MS Duo, MS PRO Duo, and xD-Picture Card.
  • Eight-inch high-resolution LCD screen for digital photo display.
  • Full-featured remote-control for file navigation and display settings.
  • MP3 music support, and MPEG1, MPEG2, and MJPEG video support.
  • Dimensions: 9.8(L) x 8.0 (W) x 1.8 (H) in inches.
  • Screen Resolution: 640x480 pixels (VGA).

Guide Review - Digital Foci Image Moments Digital Picture Frame

Digital Foci gives you a great way to display your images in a picture frame. Now this isn't an ordinary picture frame. This allows you to display the images right off your digital camera's memory card. Now, when you have company over and everyone is using their own digital cameras, they can all see the pictures immediately instead of waiting to get copies via e-mail or mail.

Here is how it works. Simply insert your memory card into the slot, turn on the display and sit back and enjoy your pictures in blazing color. I like that you can not only look at your images, but you can also watch videos and listen to music. I like the idea of putting music to your videos or images.

The remote control is a nice touch, and it's easy to navigate through the on-screen display. You're able to rotate the photo when needed.

The one primary complaint I have is the frame has no internal memory on it. This isn't really the end of the world, but you won't be able to gather favorite photos over time to display on it. It will only read and display what is on your memory card.

Regardless, this is a great buy just for the ease of looking over my pictures without having to (A) look at them with the tiny LCD screen on the back of the camera or (B) having to download everything on the computer first. Most of all, this is ideal for gatherings. Think about how everyone will have such a nice time looking over pictures together.
