Shot to Shot Delay

By Kyle Schurman, About.com

Definition: Shot to shot delay is the amount of time after the digital camera records an image that the camera requires to be prepared to shoot the next image. Different digital camera models have different shot to shot delay times.

Shot to shot delays tend to increase when shooting photos over a long distance or when using the flash. To eliminate problems from shot to shot delays, make use of a digital camera's burst mode.
