Hot new digital cameras

If there is one reason people flock to PMA each year, it's to see the hottest and most anticipated digital camera models before they hit the stores.

This year is no exception. Even before the doors have opened, major manufacturers have announced models that wow.

Canon Debuts 22 New Products

Canon is clamoring to be the belle of the PMA ball by introducing 22 new products. The lineup includes nine additions to the popular PowerShot line, the EOS 30D digital SLR, new EF and EF-S lenses, a new DVD camcorder and three new photo printers. Probably the most anticipated in the bunch will be the EOS 30D digital SLR camera, wedged in price and features between the EOS 20D and EOS 5D. (Mid-March delivery, $1,399 for body and $1,499 for body and lens)

Kodak Introduces New EasyShare Models

Kodak is introducing new EasyShare models, ranging from a beginner-priced $179 model to the EasyShare Z612, a 6-megapixel, 12x optical zoom camera that shoots TV-quality video. (April, $399)

Panasonic's first digital SLR

Panasonic has announced its first SLR, the 7.5-megapixel DMC-L 1, is described as a digital with the look and feel of a film SLR.

Pentax's two new SLRs

Pentax is showing off two new digital SLR cameras, one a 10 megapixel model and the other a medium format DSLR.

An eBay camera

Casio has introduced three new models, including the EX-7850, an 8.1-megapixel camera with "eBay Best Shot Mode." (April, $399)
