Gen X moms are where it's at
Are you a Jennifer? If so, photo marketers want you! A focus of the Photo Marketing Association 2006 conference is the hot demographic of Gen X moms, ages 24-44, now being eyed as a key demographic. They chose the name "Jennifer" because it was a popular name for this generation.
According to PMA, compared to other demographic groups, Jennifer is:
- Among the most likely to purchase a new camera/camcorder.
- Most likely to buy a new digital still camera.
- Most likely to own a digital still camera.
- Most likely to make paper prints.
- Most likely to believe making paper prints is important.
- Most likely to use online Internet photo services.
- Most likely to use self-service kiosks.
- Among the most likely to own a cameraphone
- Save greater proportion of pictures taken.
Companies are responding, and you can expect "Jennifer" to be a big catch phrase this year.
