Samsung NV10 Digital Camera
There are a few things I love about this camera. Primarily, I like that it is the best of both worlds for those who want both a compact camera and a higher-end digital camera. Like anything that does double duty, it isn't the best of either world. Sure, there are slimmer cameras. Sure, there are some more advanced digital cameras on the market. But there are very few cameras that serve both roles and needs so well.It is compact, slim and sleek. The black aluminum body is a looker, and the shiny blue ring around the the lens barrel makes this camera win points for looks alone. It measures around 0.7 inches, or 18.5 millimeters, thick.
It also aims to be a big boy trapped in a little body. While it might seem like a minor point, the best way it does this is by providing a small, but significant, hand grip. A huge downside to the compact camera is that it is difficult to hold with any stability. If you don't think that's too important, remember that this results in being uncomfortable while shooting. It also is a major cause of blurry photos because of hand shake while shooting.
Samsung NV10 Thinks Big
The megapixel size is quite large for a compact camera at 10.1 megapixels. At this size, you can get away with prints as high as 24-inch by 18-inch, and will certainly have outstanding 8x10 pictures. For most people, this will accommodate any print size needs.
The camera's 2.5-inch LCD screen is substantial, though not unheard of in compact cameras. It is much more typical in larger point-and-shoot models and digital SLR cameras, though.
This comes in handy when using the photo gallery tool to view pictures, or when editing movies on-camera.
Easily one of the coolest features of the camera is the LCD's touch screen menu. This is one of the first cameras to feature this handy menu interface.
This is also a rare compact camera with a pop-up flash. The flash can be used in auto, auto & red-eye reduction, fill-in, slow sync and flash off modes, and its range is up to 10 feet. The recharge time for the flash takes about four seconds, so keep in mind you will need to wait this long between shots when shooting with flash. That can be a nuisance when shooting action or children in bad lighting.
Samsung NV10 Camera is Versatile
For such a small package, it can be surprising how much the Samsung NV10 can actually do. It can record up to an hour of audio, or 10-second clips can be imbedded with images. This can be handy for keeping track of thoughts, locations or names of people in each picture while shooting.
The power sources and recharging capabilities are outstanding on this camera. Users can either recharge the battery with the cradle, or through a USB cable. Users can get a high-capacity battery kit.
The Samsung's scene modes include Night, Portrait, Children, Landscape, Close-up, Sunset, Dawn,Backlight, Fireworks, Beach & Snow and Text, which can be used to shoot documents that can later be converted to text documents with included software.
