Resizing photos - Step Six

Here is a view of the image in "Actual Size" on the computer's screen

Michael Carr

Now that the image is resized, be sure you are happy with the results. Click on "View," and then "Actual Pixels" to get an idea of the size people will see when they view the image in e-mail or on the Web. If you are not pleased with the results, click "Edit" and "Step Backwards" to go back to your original size, and then repeat Step Five.

Click "File," and then "Save," and then "File" and "Close."

To confirm that your image file size is small enough, click "File," then "Open." Just find your image in the directory, and then float your mouse over the name or image. You will see the dimensions and file size. You should aim for a file size below 300K.

Now your image is a reasonable size, and is ready to be sent by e-mail or posted on the Web without presenting a nuisance to the viewers.
