Setting up MyStudio
It claims to be portable and tabletop, although that's a bit of an exaggeration. If this collapsed, I would consider it portable, but everything must be bolted and screwed together.A big knock against the claim of portability, even if you could tolerate carrying tools around with you, is the fact it's a bit tricky to put together (and probably extremely difficult if you don't have two people working on it).
In fact, it was impossible to put together initially, until they sent a special screw to make the bolt holes larger. If this is a common problem, this special screw should be packaged with the unit.
It is semi-portable in the sense that you could move it pretty easily from one room to another, but you wouldn't be folding this up and tossing it in your trunk.
If you plan to set this up and you have a spot dedicated, this is perfect. But it is best to know that the MyStudio is probably best suited for a dedicated spot on a tabletop.
Home Product Studio with MyStudio

You will need a rather deep table because the footprint is large, but once you have it set up it creates a great seamless white background for photographing. You will need a spot of about two square feet to hold the MyStudio.
It is perfect for small scale online businesses and photography enthusiasts such as:
- eBay sellers
- Etsy crafters
- Artists
- Online shop owners and dealers
- Stock photographers
- Serious collectors
- Aspiring pro photographers
- Pro photographers who cannot afford studio space
Pictures with the MyStudio
p]As a photo studio, the MyStudio makes it pretty simple for even noobies to take great product shots. With the exception of perhaps slight tinkering with the bounce boards and positioning (yourself with camera, and product), it is pretty simple to shoot and get a nice image. You get a clean and seamless background, which eliminates many rookie product photo mistakes from cluttered and messy backgrounds. The surrounding sides and boards keep the lighting even.
There were only a couple times I encountered difficulty. It is tough to get an overhead shot and use the lighting, because it features a large and deep panel over the studio space. It also took a little more effort to shoot shiny items and light colored items to avoid shine and get contrast.
All in all, though, products looked very nice using the MyStudio, which is the most important thing.
