My 5D Mark II is my latest in a successive series of Canon cameras that I own or have owned. I like the quality and the 5D Mark II is simply awesome. Full-size sensor and large viewing screen with real-time viewing if desired. I have the optional two battery pack, which seems to last and last. The thumb-wheel is intuitive and makes quick adjustments easy. There is a large selection of lenses. Picture quality is superb and 21 megapixels allow huge enlargements. The HD video is also great. Changing between still and video is quick. The only reservation I have is that the moisture sealing seems to be it's Achilles' heel. Moisture can enter the camera and cause havoc where other cameras seem to be unaffected. The camera stopped, came back after placing it in a climate-controlled area but needed a lot of work, including a new shutter 1 1/2 years later. Canon stated "corrosion." A rain cover may trap moisture. I may bring my old 1Ds where moisture could be a problem. But I still love the 5D Mark II, it is a great camera overall.
Superb picture quality, easy handling, HD video, great selection of lenses, regular seminars by, or organized through, Canon
A bit pricey, moisture ingress in spite of a rain cover.
