Canon EOS 20D DSLRApproximate date of purchase:
January 2006My Review
This is my first ever Canon camera, as I previously have owned medium format.
I had a look at the Nikon range at the time of purchase, and I feel I still made the right choice. The metering has been first rate, and I have used it in many situations; it always comes out with reliable metering.
It feels like an extension of my hand when it's in use, like a trusted friend. I do own Canon lenses, and I found all to work very well together. I don't think I can ever see myself without a Canon camera.
I realized in the years since my purchase that cameras have improved in capacity, but I feel, for the moment, that I'm not interested in any others, unless I could afford the 1D.
Camera "pros"
The 20D is a tough body. I have found this, to my relief, as I have accidentally dropped the camera on concrete and, luckily, it only broke a filter.
The metering system is very reliable. Canon lenses are a joy to work with.
