FAVORITE PHOTO SHOT WITH THIS CAMERA: A snowy day in Atlanta ...

Name of product:

Canon EOS Rebel XT DSLR

Approximate date of purchase:

June 2006

My Review

Even though the Canon Rebel XT is an older camera with "only" 8 megapixels of resolution, it can compete with newer models with a greater resolution, even to this day. The dimensions are an impressive 3456 x 2304. By using common sense techniques, I take amazing photos all the time. The display screen has a low pixel count, so one must download the images to fully evaluate each shot. The popup flash is good as a fill-in, but close to walls, it casts horrid shadows (avoid walls when using flash). But it is an amazing camera, and the price couldn't be beaten. Picture quality is far better than point and shoot cameras.

Camera "pros"

I like the feel of this camera because it is rather small. I like the ease of use. It has lots of wonderful features that are not hard to figure out. My overall rating for the value, the excellent picture results, and ease of use and wonderful price would have to be 5.

Camera "cons"

The cons would be the low MP view screen.

I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on the XT. Even though it is an "older" camera, some readers of the site sometimes purchase used cameras, so this type of user review is very helpful! Thanks for uploading the well-framed "snowy" photo, too!
