This product is a piece of garbage. I recieved it on time with free delivery, and I opened the box.
I spent two hours reading and setting it up and installing the disk.
After the unit failed to communicate with my computer, I called Canon.
They were nice {big deal}. We wasted 4.5 hours on the phone, only to have the tech say somthing was wrong with my computer, and I should pay Microsoft to fix the issue.
I spent two hours on the phone with Microsoft only to find out there was nothing wrong with my computer whatsoever at a cost of $59 to myself.
At which point I called Canon back, and they were very nice once again, and they are refunding me my entire cost.
The point being is that I spent two hours researching the product, an hour on the phone to have the item delivered and some other miscellaneous items, 4.5 hours with their technical department, and another two hours with Microsoft, and I still don't have a printer or scanner.
All told I wasted 10 hours on this product that does not interface with Microsoft Windows XP, and the technician agreed that there are a lot of issues with the technology.
Why do all of that and bother buying something that doesn't work or, better question, why bother selling something that you know isn't going to work from the factory?
I have four other pieces of Canon equipment, and each time I purchased a piece of Canon equipment because their quality is better. I am equally dissatisfied with what happens after the original purchase.
Their camcorders have an excellent system, and you can also have a remote control, so I purchased this Canon Vixia M31, and it was the sorriest day of my life.
It had to be replaced right from the box back to the factory because it simply didn't work.
In addition to this, the new one came and lasted exactly 3 weeks and never did I take it out of my house even one time nor was it dropped or mishandled, and yet it failed after approximately 20 hours of use.
At which point I am now on my third camcorder in less than six months.
However, I spent 15 or 20 hours on the telephone in nothing more than wasted conversation to try to make the cameras work each time.
I will never buy another Canon product in this lifetime!

Camera "pros"
It has a remote control
Camera "cons"
Two of them didn't work right out of the box, so what's the point of purchasing a Canon product?
The lens quality is much less than that of a Sony
