I LOVE my T1i -- even though by the time I bought it it had been superceded by the T2i and now the T3i. I wanted an SLR digital -- I needed a viewfinder type camera because I've yet to find any digital camera with a display that doesn't fade from view in bright sunlight. Besides, I'm a old-timer (62) who's owned mostly all Canon SLRs since I became serious about photography in college (my first was a Aries 35mm rangefinder I used with a Sekonic flip open light meter in my left hand). When I bought my first Canon SLR (the then new F-1) in November 1971 while stationed in Germany, it was a revelation -- it had a built-in light meter! Over the years I've also owned the A-1, the T-90 and the EOS 630, after my stroke in 2002 I lost interest in just about everything, including my long time passion for photography (at the time I'd been looking to acquire a large format -- 4x5 camera to go with my Mamiya RB67 pro), but the T1i has gotten me the "bug" again. I LOVE the resolution, the ability to shoot moving pictures, the ability to enlarge instantly and the 'instant' gratification of digital. I LOVE Canon products -- that's not saying that the other major (and some minor) players don't have good stuff, but after over 40 years of using Canon products, I'm more that satisfied! I still have all three Canon film Cameras -- F-1, T-90 and EOS 630!
Camera "pros"
Canon lenses - even the older EF lenses for the film EOSes can be used - the controls are pretty much the same as all my Canon SLRs - the T-90 was the 'Breakthrough' electronic camera that bridged (for me) the gap between the film and digital format. The camera is currently adequate for my uses.
Camera "cons"
None that come to mind
