Mid-2010My Review
While in Singapore, the shopping festival was on, and I decided to purchase a camera. I had an array of cameras to chose from. The latest model of Canon at the time was D500, and it was just out. I knew nothing about digital cameras and asked around, as I was confused between the Canon D500 and Nikon. I was VERY confused as each camera had its customer who recommended it, as per their liking. Confused, I finally decided to get the Canon D500 and went to the store to purchase it. I has enough money to cover for it and a bit more. When I finally got the camera and the sales man was doing the demo, he pulled a fast one on me. He compared three cameras for me: The Canon D500, a Nikon and ... the Fujifilm PinePix S100FS. According to him, this would be the ideal camera for me, as it had everything built into it. A good powerful flash, a 28-400 mm zoom lens, auto and manual settings, and it worked great, even in little light. What confused me more is that it was higher in price. I fell for it and ended up purchasing that. Until about a month ago, I kept feeling bad I fell for it. Now that I look back, I am glad I bought it. It has everything an amateur like me can ask for. A zoom lens, which works great even when the light is not great and with it's existing built-in flash. Options, I can practice with it. Now that I am used to it, with the help of a photo retouching software, I don't need anything else. Now that I know a bit more about the cameras, I am ready to get a proper DSLR camera. I would definitely recommend the camera to amateur photographers who want to learn and not worry about having different lenses.
