2006My Review
Although this model is now starting to get old, this one has had very little use. I am totally dissatisfied with Fujifilm's UK service center's "don't care less" attitude, more so than with the camera itself. I used Fuji's website to return the camera for service, the fault description was entered (broken battery terminal, a simple straightforward repair). I was requested to pay a fixed price repair of £85.00, so I gave my card details and duly sent my camera with insurance. I was promptly e-mailed a few days later by Fujifilm service center to say it was received. I was e-mailed the following day to say the camera will be repaired and returned ASAP. About 7 or so days later, I am informed by e-mail again that the camera has been repaired and on its way back to me. When it arrived the following day, I was surprised to read the attached note saying that the camera could not be repaired as the part is no longer in production. So why was I told that it will be repaired and on its way back to me? Okay, I accept that I was refunded my £85.00, but I wanted my now useless piece of junk repaired. I expressed my dissatisfaction in the fact that I have a product that should be supported with service and parts for 10 years after it last went out of production (as do other manufactures). Surprisingly, I have not received a reply back from Fuji. From first contacting them, I was offered a very low trade in value for a later model, which suggested to me that they don't really repair anything, just try to sell you something else you don't really need or want. I have since further purchased a Fuji compact digital camera for my wife for Christmas, but will be returning this to the retailer as I have no confidence in this brand, and if this is what Fuji calls customer support, I will not be purchasing any further products from them. Definitely not recommended.
Camera "pros"
Nice well balanced camera with good range of features.
Camera "cons"
A little "plastic-y" and flimsy
