I am an advanced amateur who has used a Nikon Coolpix 8800 very heavily since purchasing it several years ago, just before it was removed from the market. It has served me very, very well. I was and still am able to print 11x17 and even 13x19 images suitable for matting and framing for art shows at local art galleries, restaurants, etc. Being somewhat limited in mobility, I find the 10X zoom from 35mm to 350mm, along with the fully articulated viewer, has enabled me to make images, which otherwise would have been impossible. Sharp describes my images. I am well pleased, but I am considering upgrading to a medium priced DSLR so as to be able to print larger and sharper images.
Camera "pros"
Very sharp lens, fully articulated viewing screen, remote infrared shutter release, and solid build.
Camera "cons"
None of any consequence that I can think of at the moment.
