I was looking for a new camera after someone forgot to take the batteries out of my Kodak EasyShare. I went to the camera store at the mall and looked at all the special deals. I couldn't belive the price and specs on the L24. I paid £49.99, which was a bargain. The camera is extremely easy to use and has a good solid feel to it. There are a good range of scene settings as well as multi-shot options. The food setting has a built in set of different colored filters, which I found useful, as I do a lot of baking and cooking and keep a photographic record of any good dishes I come across. Very often when taking pictures of food, the finished shot never looks as appetizing as it does in real life. I love sunset/sunrise shots, and using my tripod, I have gotten some exellent results. The software that comes with the camera was simple to install and use on my PC. For a cheap compact, this is a very good camera indeed.
Camera "pros"
a good range of scene selections
sufficient weight to be able to hold steady
excellent video quality (I put one on YouTube)
uses standard AA batteries (which last for ages)
quick "switch on and shoot" time
Camera "cons"
a little tricky to open the battery/SD card compartment (but then I have no nails!)
